Come Hear Chamber Orchestra at Nyack Library Carnegie Room! Saturday January 17th, 2015

NYACK HS CHAMBER ORCHESTRA IN CONCERT
In 1912 English composer Gustav Holst wrote the beautiful St. Paul’s Suite in tribute to the school in England where he was music director. Now, more than 100 years later, the Nyack High School Chamber Orchestra will perform the piece in preparation for a competition in London this spring. Along with St. Paul’s Suite, the students, under the direction of Mr. Matt Lucero, will also perform Tchaikovsky’s classic Serenade for Strings, works of the great Friedrich Handel and various popular tunes. Before they embark on their international tour this spring, you’re invited to hear them perform in Nyack. The young musicians who comprise the select Chamber Orchestra look forward to sharing their music with their community. Over the years, Chamber Orchestra has received numerous awards, such as the distinguished National Orchestra Cup. They have performed nationally in
prestigious concert halls including Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, and internationally in Prague and Vienna. This year’s Chamber Orchestra keeps the fine tradition alive with an appearance at Nyack Library:
